The 2007 American Royal Open Contest results have been released, and you can view them here. Congrats to all of the winning teams. Maximum Loin took 249th place overall, edging out over 200 other teams. Our best category in this year’s contest was pork, for which we placed 79th out of 485 teams.

Maximum Loin thanks “Coyote” Mike of Coyote Salvage for sponsoring our team again at this year’s American Royal BBQ. In addition to his sponsorship, he also helped us with our on-site logistics. He was responsible for sourcing the additional smoker we used, and he also supplied the Blue River band’s stage. Thanks, Mike!

Its lunch time on Saturday, and we’re enjoying some pulled pork we saved back from last night’s big party. In addition to the pork, we cooked up some chicken wings and bratwurst. The rum is out, and it’s a nice antidote for last night’s (pbr)beer overdose. Looks like Blue River just started their afternoon set, so I’m going to pull up a straw-bale and enjoy the music.
