Maximum Loin at the 2008 American Royal BBQ

The team gave it their all at the 2008 American Royal BBQ competition. This is the third year we have competed in the “World Series of BBQ” competition, and we had as much fun as ever. On Friday night, we held our annual blow-out party for friends and family. We cooked around 500 pounds of meat for that night alone. We competed in the “Open” division on Sunday, and our scores were the following:

Chicken: #61
Pork: #150
Pork Ribs: #394
Beef Brisket: #96

Overall, Maximum Loin placed #154 overall out of 475 teams in the Open competition.

Maximum Loin Kicks Ass at Shawnee BBQ

Maximum Loin took 11th overall (actually, tied for 10th) out of 102 teams at the 2008 Great Grillers BBQ contest in Shawnee. The performance was highlighted by ribbons in Chicken and Brisket categories. Check out the KCBS website for complete results.
