Every year, we create Maximum Loin t-shirts to wear and sell at our events. The sales of our shirts helps to fund our team’s activities. The 2007 Maximum Loin t-shirt designs were unveiled at last week’s Shawnee BBQ contest, and they were a big hit. We sold about half of our stock on Friday night. If you weren’t able to get a shirt last weekend, don’t fret. There are still some shirts left, and we will be selling them at our American Royal tent.

Many thanks to everyone who attended our party at the 2007 Shawnee BBQ Competition last weekend. Despite the little rain shower, we had a great time on Friday night. In case you’re wondering, we placed in the middle of the pack overall.
Now its time to look forward to the big one - the annual American Royal BBQ aka the”World Series of BBQ.” Maximum Loin will be competing again this year, attempting to build on last year’s ribbon for 7th Place Chicken in the Open Contest. The big party at the American Royal BBQ is Friday, October 5th. Email invites will go out soon, so mark your calendars.

We’re gearing up for this weekend’s Shawnee BBQ aka Shawnee Great Grillers State Championship. The Shawnee contest has become a Maximum Loin tradition, and this will be the fifth consecutive year that we have competed in it.
As always, we’ll be having a little get-together at our tent on Friday, the evening before judging. If you’re going to be in the neighborhood, please stop by our tent and say hello. If you’re lucky, you may get to sample some of our award-winning bbq. The contest is held at Herman Laird Park aka Old Shawnee Town, a large public park near downtown Shawnee (Google-Map it here). We are in the same spot as last year, #75 on this map (pdf). See you there!
